Growing up I intended to be a ballerina or a paratrooper. Then I started school, learned how to read and decidedly told my parents that I would be a student forever. This plan is still on track.
I recently completed my undergraduate degree in Public Affairs and Policy Management with the Arthur Kroeger College of Public Affairs at Carleton University.
I specialized in Strategic Public Opinion and Policy Analysis with a focus on Communications Research. I am currently enrolled in a Business Studies Certificate Program at George Brown College.
I spent the past year specifically studying the millennial generation with Abacus Data, learning about the complexities of this generation. I make sure Abacus Data’s Canadian Millennial analysts are up to date on the most recent social and consumer trends and I am in charge of guiding the direction of our Millennial Research.
It is my job to keep up with Canadian Millennial news and trends and to contribute to the global discussion surrounding this generation through our Canadian Millennials blog. I also travel across Canada moderating focus groups for clients on new products, advertisement testing, and communication strategies.
I know it’s not a food but I will never say no to a Chai Tea Latte at Bridgehead, a local fair trade coffee shop.
Abacus Data makes it comfortable for me to be flexibility and still feel connected. When one of us is out of the office we can still communicate through email, chat on Skype, share files through Dropbox and collaborate on Google Docs. We strive to make our own work place as Millennial friendly as possible and experiment with different policies to make our team more productive and happy.
Whenever possible, I love to get out of town and explore rural Canada. However, most weekends I will usually be doing ‘Millennial Research’ at HHK (Hip Hop Karaoke) or at small indie concert venues.
I try really hard to remember names, regardless I still sometimes forget and this bothers me most.
I have road tripped across Canada more times than I can count. I grew up in the west and I have family on both coasts – it is not uncommon for me to swim in both the Pacific and the Atlantic in the same year.
